Sinner, Son, and Servant

JOHN 5:24-25

24   Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation (Judgement); but is passed from death unto life.

II CORINTHIANS 5:10

10   For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ (So this judgement seat cannot be a judgment for sin because the bible says that the believer will not come into the judgement for his sin, and the penalty of sin is death, so this must be another judgement, a future judgement); that every one may receive the things done in his body (this is a judgement to receive things), according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

This is a judgment for the rewards for our service while on earth; it has nothing to do with our salvation, that judgment was taken for us by Jesus Christ.

***So it is important for us to have a clear understanding of the different judgments in the bible of which we know that the first 3 of the seven major judgements in the bible directly concerns us as individuals.

Sinner, Son, and Servant – Bible study

There are seven major judgments spoken of in the bible.

There are of course other judgments spoken about in the scriptures. Adam and Eve were judged by God in Eden, then there was the judgment of the antediluvian world under the prophet Noah’s ministry, and the judgment at the time of the Tower of Babel, and the judgment of Egypt under Moses, then there was the judgement of the pre-civilisation even before the Garden of Even - we read about that in JEREMIAH 4.

JEREMIAH 4:23-26

23   I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

24   I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

25   I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

26   I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

We also know how that judgement will come upon a nation that rejects the word of the Lord that he sends through his Prophets and ministers, like the judgment that was to come upon the gentile city of Nineveh at the time of the prophet Jonah.

In this day we know that Los Angeles will receive judgment from God by being sunk beneath the sea because they also rejected a prophet that God sent to this generation. Also the Vatican City will be bombed of the map by a Russian nuclear bomb. So there are many judgments spoken of in the bible.

**As a little bible lesson, we want to look at the first 3 of the major Judgments that are spoken of in the scripture of Sinner, Son, and Servant, these 3 judgements all pertain directly to each of us as individuals.

* But before we take a closer look at the first 3 of sinner, son and servant, we want to briefly look at all these seven major judgements.

The Seven Major judgements of the scriptures:

1 – Sinner - the judgement of the believer’s Sin at the Cross – Christ took that judgement for us on our behalf, this judgement is past

I PETER 2:24a

24   Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:

2 – Son - it is the judgment of God to correct his children as His sons and daughters and also the believer’s Self-Judgment – Remember, we will pay in this lifetime for our disobedience to the word until we learn to mind the Lord in all things, because whatever a man sows that shall he also reap, so this judgement is going on now in this present life.

3 – Servant - this is to do with the believer’s willing and voluntary service to God in his calling during this lifetime, we are all called to serve the Lord in some capacity (remember that the most important work is to first believe whom God sends for your day, and there is also a price to pay for that, to believe whom God sends for your day does not come without labour and effort) – so there is a reward for that labour, so this is a judgement that is in the future, you will not receive that reward now in this lifetime for your faithfulness to the word, but you will receive your reward at a future time when we must all appear at the judgment seat of Christ.

4 - Judgment of Gentile Nations – this is at the great white throne judgement after the millennium, but this is in part taking place right now because the judge of all the earth has come down as he did with Abraham just before the destruction of Sodom, so when all the gentile nations are raised up at the general resurrection, at that time it is a judgement for sentencing of how they treated the word in flesh now, but the real judgment is taking place now under this seventh seal.

MATTHEW 25:32-46

32   And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33   And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34   Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35   For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36   Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37   Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38   When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39   Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40   And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41   Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42   For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43   I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44   Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45   Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46   And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

5 - Judgment of Israel

MATTHEW 27:24-25

24   When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

25   Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

Israel has been under many cycles of judgment for their rejection of the Messiah. But there is one final judgment yet to come upon Israel after the rapture of the Gentile church.

JEREMIAH 30:7

7   Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

6 - Judgment of Angels

JUDE 1:6

6   And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. ***These are fallen Angels that fell by rejecting the word to follow Lucifer – but remember that that is also what people become when they do not keep their first estate of their faith in the word, they too become fallen angels if they don’t stay with the word just like the angels at the beginning couldn’t stay with the word but left the truth of the word to go with Lucifer who’s program looked better that Michel’s. Remember, Satan will always make his program look better and more attractive than that of Christ’s.

I CORINTHIANS 6:3

3   Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

7 - Judgment of the Wicked Dead at the Great White Throne

REVELATION 20:11-15

11     ¶ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12   And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13   And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14   And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15   And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

- Look a little more closely at the first three that pertain directly to us as individuals.

SINNER

ROMANS 6:23

23   For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation is a free gift, you cannot earn it or work for it in any way – it comes only by hearing and believing on Christ who is the word revealed for your day.

JOHN 5:24-25

24   Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation (Judgement); but is passed from death unto life.

25   Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

Eternal life is dependent upon hearing the voice of God – he that heareth my word… Faith to believe will come to you once you have heard the word.

I PETER 2:21-25

21   For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

22   Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

23   Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24   Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25   For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

**Christ took our place and our Judgement and condemnation as Sinners fully upon Himself, this judgement is over, it is in the past, there is no condemnation because your past, present, and your future sins have already been judged in Christ and you cannot stand the judgement the second time.

PSALM 103:12

12   As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

HEBREWS 8:12

12   For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

**The sin question in completely over for the believer – the judgment for our sin was dealt with once and for ever by Christ Jesus our saviour high priest, so we cannot be judged the second time, this judgement is a judgement that has already past – and it is in the past.

All my sins are washed, their all washed away, all my sins are washed away”.

SON

This is our relationship to God, not as a sinner, but now as His sons and daughters, the sin question has been dealt with for certain, but as a natural father corrects and disciplines his children, so does our heavenly father correct and discipline us.

I CORINTHIANS 11:31-32

31   For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. (This is not a judgment for sin, but a judgment for correction for disobedience, so if we judge ourselves quickly and line up to the word, then we will escape the chastening of the Lord because God gives us a space to repent just like he did with King David)

32   But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

HEBREWS.CHAPTER.SIX.2_ JEFF.IN HEB SUNDAY_ 57-0908E

475     He started going down (He is referring to a "Mr. Ramsey), and got sick. See? God couldn't speak to him. I warned him, I done everything I could. Brother Smith went to him and warned him. Everybody tried to do everything they could for him. Still, he just shook his head. What happened? He took sick and died. That showed that he was a saved man. If God could not make him... bring him in obedience, He will have to take him out of the earth and bring him Home. That's exactly what the Bible said. That's what the Bible promises. If you won't stand correction, you've got to come on Home.

476   So God cannot lose you after He's saved you, but He can shorten your days here, and make you pay for every sin you've done. So, if you sin, you're going to have to pay for what you've done. Just remember that.

HEBREWS 12:6-11

6   For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7   If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8   But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

9   Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10   For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

11   Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

HEBREWS 5:8

     8   Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Christ did not disobey or sin against God at all during his lifetime, but he learnt the reason for obedience by his suffering, in other words he learnt by experience and at a deeper level the reason why it is so necessary to obey God.

SERVANT

The word “servant” appears over 70 times in the New Testament.

As we have said, this judgment does not determine our salvation, but rather our REWARDS.

REVELATION 22:12

12   And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

I CORINTHIANS 3:13-15

13   Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14   If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15   If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

MATTHEW 24:45-47

45   Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

46   Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

47   Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. *Notice that this is at a future time.

The Bible speaks of five crowns of reward which will be given to His faithful servants.

A. The CROWN OF LIFE or martyr’s crown. Rev. 2:10 and James 1:12

B. The CROWN OF GLORY or the PASTOR/TEACHER’S crown. I Pet. 5:1-4

C. The CROWN OF REJOICING or the SOUL WINNER’S crown. I Thess. 2:19 & 20

D. The CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS for those who LONG FOR the coming

of Christ.

II TIMOTHY 4:8

8   Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

E. The INCORRUPTIBLE crown which comes for VICTORIOUS LIVING. I Cor. 9:25-27

MATTHEW 25:14-30

14     ¶ For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15   And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16   Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

17   And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

18   But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

19   After a long time (seven church ages of 2000 years) the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20   And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

21   His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22   He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

23   His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24   Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

25   And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26   His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

27   Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28   Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29   For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30   And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (This servant didn’t lose his salvation, but he went into the tribulation period to be purged)

***The prodigal son didn’t lose his salvation, but he did go to the pig’s pen to be purged, and he also lost his reward because of his lack of service to his father, because all the rewards of inheritance went to the other son who faithfully served his father.
